The project was honored with a Bronze Award from the Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) and a Bronze Award from the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), two respected organizations within the pool and spa industry.

Florida Swimming Pool Association Design Award
The project received a Bronze Award in the Residential Pool 501+ Square Feet category as part of the Florida Swimming Pool Association Design Awards. The FSPA Design Awards highlight exceptional work by pool builders across Florida, honoring projects that push the boundaries of design while maintaining superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The winning project involved a complete transformation of an existing waterfront backyard. The original 10-foot-deep pool was demolished and replaced with a carefully designed custom pool and spa that dramatically enhanced both the functionality and aesthetics of the space.
The new design features an 18’ x 50’ custom swimming pool paired with a 6’-6” x 12’ spa that sits flush with the pool, creating a seamless visual connection between the two elements. A spacious 7’-6” x 18’ sundeck with two LED bubblers provides a relaxing area for lounging and shallow water enjoyment, while dual-entry resort-style steps offer both convenience and visual appeal.
Pool depths were thoughtfully designed to range from 4 feet to 7 feet, accommodating both recreation and relaxation.
Pool & Hot Tub Alliance International Award of Excellence
In addition to recognition from FSPA, the project also earned a Bronze Award from the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance in the International Awards of Excellence program, specifically in the category “Spas Built in Conjunction with Swimming Pools.”
The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance represents thousands of members worldwide and recognizes projects that exemplify innovation, quality construction, and superior design in the pool and spa industry. Being acknowledged at the international level highlights the exceptional craftsmanship and design coordination involved in this project.
The integrated spa plays a central role in the backyard experience. Designed flush with the pool, it offers a sleek, contemporary look while providing a relaxing retreat within the overall layout. Combined with color-changing LED lighting and elegant water features, the spa enhances both the functionality and the ambiance of the space.
A Collaborative Backyard Transformation
This award-winning project was more than just a pool build, it was a full-scale backyard transformation completed through close collaboration with both a general contractor and landscape team.
The outdoor living space surrounding the pool was elevated with over 3,000 square feet of Atlantic Shell Stone pavers, creating a cohesive and luxurious pool deck. A gunite retaining wall system, finished with matching materials, provided both structural support and visual continuity throughout the design.
The landscaping team further enhanced the space with a stacked limestone wall, artificial turf, and a custom putting green, adding unique recreational and aesthetic elements to the property.
At the same time, the building contractor constructed a brand-new cabana area, carefully coordinated with the pool design to create a unified outdoor environment. The result is a backyard that feels both expansive and thoughtfully integrated, blending architectural elements with functional outdoor living spaces.
Built for Durability and Performance
Beyond the design elements, the project also included upgrades that enhance long-term durability. The client elected to upgrade all piping and fittings from Schedule 40 PVC to Schedule 80 PVC, providing additional strength and reliability within the pool’s infrastructure.
Despite the scope and complexity of the project, including demolition, new construction, landscaping, and structural work, the entire transformation was completed on schedule, allowing the homeowners to enjoy their new backyard oasis in time for the holiday season.
