For Ryan Slack, building swimming pools isn’t just a career – it’s a family tradition.
Ryan is a third-generation pool contractor who was raised in his family’s pool business, where he spent his early years servicing and maintaining residential and commercial swimming pools. Those experiences gave him a deep understanding of pool systems, craftsmanship, and the importance of doing the job right from the very beginning.
In 2019, with the goal of eventually owning his own pool construction company, Ryan went to work for Rod Maine, the Founder of South Florida Custom Pools, to expand his expertise in custom pool construction. Working alongside Rod, he gained valuable hands-on knowledge in every phase of construction from planning and excavation to the finishing details that transform a backyard into a custom outdoor living space.
In 2020, Ryan became a State of Florida Licensed Residential Pool and Spa Contractor, combining years of hands-on industry experience with the qualifications required to construct complex residential pool projects.
In December 2021, Ryan and his wife, Morgan, purchased South Florida Custom Pools with a shared vision of delivering exceptional craftsmanship, honest communication, and a seamless building experience. Today, Ryan personally oversees each phase of every project, ensuring every pool is built with the same level of care, precision, and attention to detail that has been instilled in him through generations of pool builders.
In addition to being a State of Florida Licensed Residential Pool/Spa Contractor, Ryan achieved the Certified Builder Professional (CBP) designation by the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance in 2024.
